Everyone wears a Mask
Some are paper thin, others thick as steel
Some spend so much time making their Masks
You can't tell the difference
Time and people create cracks
And someone comes along and breaks the whole thing
Sometimes a friend or family
Sometimes your worst enemy
And the most surprising of all, a stranger who seems to know you too well
Promising they won't judge, Promising they support you
Saying they've heard worse, that they can take it
Apologizing from something they can't change
I strive to be that stranger
